Davinde · Equinoxes & solstices
Før Solen Går Ned- We gather in Davinde at the year’s four turning points
Music, art, nature, food and community.
Før Solen Går Ned
A place to meet.
Something to share.
A concert. A meal. A walk. And time to be together.
Før Solen Går Ned is a year-round, cross-disciplinary arts festival bringing music, visual art, nature and people together at the year’s four turning points. It builds on Davinde Festival, which has brought music and cultural experiences to south-east Odense since 2019.
We follow nature’s rhythm from the spring equinox to the winter solstice. Each gathering is a new chapter in one unfolding story – with time for art, our surroundings and one another.

Seasonal events · 2027
Four gatherings.
A whole year.
Four gatherings, each with its own character. The three-day autumn festival is the highlight of the year, while the winter solstice closes the story – and opens the next.
The light returns
The year begins with a shared meal at Davinde Community Hall, a walk and a concert in Davinde Church.
The long, light days
A different kind of midsummer, with performances, a shared meal and music in nature.
The year changes colour
The highlight of the year: three days of music, talks, art, walks, food and community at venues in and around Davinde.
In the heart of winter
Community singing, art, acoustic music and hot drinks outdoors on Davinde Common.
The full programme, times and ticket information will follow.
Up close
Music and everything
that brings us together.
From listening together at a concert to conversations around the table.
Handpicked musicians, visual artists and performers meet distinctive spaces and landscapes. New Nordic folk music and Danish songwriters are central to a programme with room for connection and compelling stories. Davinde Church and the Community Hall offer intimate settings that bring audiences close to the music.

The moments in between
Where people
come together.
Some leave with a new idea. Others with a new friend.
The festival also comes alive between events: on the walk from the church to the Community Hall, by the fire on the common and in an unexpected conversation. Community singing, talks, nature walks and spontaneous musical encounters connect the experiences.
FSGN Family Dinner
Guests, artists and local residents gather around a shared meal. You share a table, food and conversation with people you may not have met before – and are welcomed into our small village family.
Walks and conversations
Light, darkness, weather and the changing seasons accompany us through the landscape. Nature is a living part of the experience, including as we move between venues.

The village & the landscape
Rooted
in Davinde.
The place is part of the festival.
The festival has its roots in Davinde and unfolds in the Tarup-Davinde nature area, at Sanderumgaard and in the area’s historic villages and churches. Landscape, architecture and local stories become an active part of the experience.
Our ambition is to create new art and connections that reach beyond each event. Experiences that leave a lasting impression on people, the landscape and the story of Davinde.
Creating the festival together
Local roots.
Shared ambitions.
Før Solen Går Ned is developed in partnership with the City of Odense, Tarup-Davinde I/S, Sanderumgaard, Davinde Church and Parish Council, Davinde Residents’ Association and Community Hall, and professional artists and cultural organisations.
The festival is developed, curated and managed by Pernille Holmskov and Peter Sund from Davinde Residents’ Association and Community Hall, in close collaboration with the festival’s partners and participating artists.
